Le Moyne Athletics : Wilmington scores three times in second half to upset #21 Le Moyne in opener 3-1

WILMINGTON UPSETS #21 LE MOYNE IN MEN'S SOCCER OPENER

NEW CASTLE, Del. - Dan Mangat made 16 saves to lead Wilmington to a 3-1 win over No. 21 Le Moyne in the men's soccer opener for both teams. Sophomore Brandon Morse (Lima, Ohio/Shawnee) scored the only goal for the Dolphins.

All of the scoring took place in the second half. Sean Reilly put the hosts up 1-0 in the 61^st minute. Nine minutes later, Morse knotted the score at one with his third career goal. Sargbah Tarpeh netted the go-ahead goal and Mohammed Kabbia added an insurance tally to lift Wilmington to the season-opening victory.

Le Moyne outshot its hosts 20-11, including a 16-8 edge in shots on goal. However, Magnat turned aside nine shots in the opening half and seven in the second half. Le Moyne redshirt freshman Steve White (Cortland, N.Y./Cortland) made five saves in his collegiate debut.

En route to its first NCAA tournament berth since 1977, Le Moyne blanked Wilmington 7-0 last season in its home opener. The Dolphins will meet Goldey-Beacom tomorrow at noon.
