MEN’S SOCCER: UMASS LOWELL DEALS LE MOYNE SECOND
CONSECUTIVE SETBACK
LOWELL, Mass. - Michael Galvin and Andrew Doherty scored goals
in the second half to lead UMass Lowell to a 2-1 Northeast-10
Conference men’s soccer victory over Le Moyne. The Dolphins
(7-3-2, 5-3-1 Northeast-10) have dropped back-to-back road
contests.
After a scoreless opening half, Galvin headed home a cross
from Christian Figueroa to put the River Hawks (8-3-1, 6-2
Northeast-10) on the board six minutes and 32 seconds into the
second half. Galvin slid a shot inside the near post to make it 2-0
in the 68th minute.
Le Moyne cut its deficit in half in the 77th minute. Sophomore
midfielder Eric Macias (Silver Spring, Md./Wheaton) punched in a
rebound for his team-high sixth goal of the season.
Senior goalkeeper Tim Mann (Silver Spring, Md./Paint Branch)
made three saves for Le Moyne. It marked just the second match this
season (and second consecutive) in which the Dolphins have allowed
two or more goals this season.
Le Moyne returns to action in another rescheduled game
