MLAX: DOLPHIN DEFENSE PACES LE MOYNE TO FIVE NCAA
STATISTICAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
SYRACUSE, NY – All-American goalie Doug McIver ’08 led
a Dolphin defense that garnered five NCAA Statistical Championships
as announced by the NCAA earlier this week. McIver won individual
honors for Goals-Against-Average (3.96) and save percentage (.681).
Team honors were awarded for Scoring Defense (3.94), Man-Down
Defense (7-68 / .103) and Winning Percentage (16-1).
A two-time All-American and 2009 USILA Goalie of the Year, McIver
currently stands as the NCAA all-time leader in goals against
average. Named the Northeast-10 Conference Goalie of the Year,
McIver anchored a defense that led the nation in goals against
average for the ninth consecutive season.
The Dolphins reached the national championship game for the fourth
consecutive season in 2009 and for the fifth time in program
history. Le Moyne fell to C.W. Post 8-7 in the championship game
for their only loss of the season.
