MLAX: DOLPHINS STAY RANKED NO 2 IN POLL
Syracuse, N.Y. - The Le Moyne Dolphins men's lacrosse team has
been ranked #2 in the nation in the USILA poll for the
seventh consecutive week. The Dolphins continue to trail only NYIT
in the poll, but this week they inched a little bit closer,
receiving three of the 10 first place votes to only trail by four
points.
Le Moyne went 2-0 this past week with a 14-10 win over Pace and a
15-2 victory against St. Anselm.
In the two games, the Dolphins were led by sophomore attackmen
Jack Harmatuk (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers
Academy/Syracuse) and Jack Venditti
(Baldwinsville, N.Y./Baldwinsville) and senior midfielder
Brian Welch (Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca) and goalkeeper
Doug McIver (Altamont, N.Y./Albany
Academy).
Harmatuk led the team with seven goals and added two assists for a
total of nine points. Venditti (three goals, three assists) and
Welch (four goals, two assists) each tallied six points. McIver
spent just under 107 minutes in goal yielding a 5.62 goals against
average while making nine saves.
The Dolphins will travel to Assumption on Tuesday, March 31 and
will return home to play Bentley on Saturday, April 4 at 1:00 PM.
