MLAX: WELCH AND MCIVER EARN NORTHEAST-10 WEEKLY
HONORS
South Easton, Mass. - Le Moyne College seniors Brian Welch
(Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca) and Doug McIver (Altamont, N.Y./Albany
Academy) have earned Northeast-10 Conference men's lacrosse weekly
honors, as announced the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Welch, a midfielder, posted three goals and dished out a pair of
assists in the Dolphins' 8-4 win over Limestone on Saturday night
at Johns Hopkins University's Homewood Field. In two victories to
begin the season, Welch has registered three goals and three
assists for six points.
McIver, a two-year starting goalkeeper, picked up his second
weekly honor of the season after stopping 14 shots and allowing
just four goals in the 8-4 victory over #10 Limestone. McIver,
named to the Tewaaraton Award watch list, has yielded just four
goals per contest to open the season.
Le Moyne (2-0) returns to action on Saturday, March 14th as they
travel to Rochester, NY to face #4 Mercyhurst on the campus of St.
John Fisher.
