MCIVER’S WORK BETWEEN THE PIPES EARNS SEASON’S
SECOND GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK AWARD
SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – Goalkeeper Doug McIver picked up
Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of the Week honors for March 10 after a
solid performance between the pipes against Mercyhurst. The award
marks the second consecutive week that junior from Altamont, N.Y.
earns the distinction.
McIver played three quarters during No. 1 Le Moyne’s 17-1
romp over No. 6 Mercyhurst in a rematch of last season’s
Division II National Championship. He surrendered just one goal on
12 shots, collecting five saves in the process. For the season, he
owns a .857 save percentage. McIver has allowed only three goals in
two Dolphin wins.
Le Moyne is riding a thirteen-game win streak that dates back to
last season. The Dolphins (2-0) put their perfect record on the
line when they travel to No. 4 C.W. Post (6-0) for a 1 p.m. game
Saturday.
