LE MOYNE SPLITS PRE-SEASON SCRIMMAGE AGAINST HOFSTRA AND
SYRACUSE.
SYRACUSE, NY. – The Le Moyne Dolphins split
their pre-season games in the Carrier Dome Saturday. The Dolphins
defeated Hofstra 7-6 in game one and fell to Syracuse 9-3 in the
second game. Brian Cost, Nick Gatto, and Mike McLaughlin added two
goals each on the day.
The Le Moyne Dolphins played their first pre-season scrimmage
Saturday at the Carrier Dome. The Dolphins opened with a 7-6
victory over Hofstra. The contest consisted of three 20 minute
quarters and one 10 minute quarter. The Dolphins Brian Cost was the
leading scorer with two goals and one assist. His last goal put the
Dolphins ahead of Hofstra 7-6 with 2:10 remaining. This gave the
Dolphins their first victory of pre-season play. The Dolphins
battled back and forth with the Pride throughout the contest. Doug
McIver saw action in the first two quarters and contributed four
saves. He replaces, All American, Jared Corcoran from last
year’s national championship team.
The Dolphins fell 9-3 against Syracuse in their second scrimmage of
the day. The contest was three 20 minutes quarters. The Orange
opened up with a 5-0 lead in the first quarter. The Dolphins Nick
Gatto broke through for Le Moyne with a goal 50 seconds into the
second quarter. Mike McDonald also contributed by scoring with 3:52
left in the second quarter. Doug McIver added four saves in the
contest. Bay Stroker entered the game in the third quarter and
added three saves.
The Dolphins open the regular season Saturday, March 1st as they
travel to face Dowling at 1 P.M.
