MEN'S LACROSSE TO RECEIVE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP RINGS TODAY; ANNUAL ALUMNI GAME TO FOLLOW
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The 2007 Division II National Championship Men's Lacrosse team received their commemorative rings today in a ceremony held in the Special Events Room at the Campus Center. Following the ceremony, the annual alumni game took place on the lacrosse practice field beginning.
Le Moyne captured their second consecutive, third in program history, National Championship in dramatic fashion as they defeated Mercyhurst 6-5 at M&T Bank Stadium. In front of 22,778 fans, Mike McDonald, the game's Most Outstanding Player for the second consecutive year, dodged from the sideline to score the game-winner with one second remaining to lift the Dolphins to a 6-5 victory.
With the victory, Le Moyne's senior class graduated as the program's most decorated. In four seasons, they have won 63 games, while only dropping three contests. They will leave the program with three National Championship rings and four conference tournament titles to their credit.
