EIGHT DOLPHINS NAMED PRESEASON ALL-AMERICANS BY INSIDE LACROSSE/FACE-OFF YEARBOOK, FIVE NAMED TO FIRST TEAM
BALTIMORE, Md. - Defending national champion Le Moyne heads the Inside Lacrosse/Face-off Yearbook preseason All-American list with eight members of the teams - including five on the first team. Junior attack Mike McDonald (Latham, N.Y./Shaker), senior midfielder Matt Cassalia (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee), junior midfielder Alex Bily (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee), senior defenseman Matt Juriga (Binghamton, N.Y./Chenango Forks) and senior goalkeeper Jared Corcoran (Concord, N.H./Concord) have been named to the first team. Junior attack Brian Cost (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee), sophomore face-off specialist Brian Griffin (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) and sophomore longstick Marc Cizenski (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) have been named honorable mention Preseason All-Americans by the publication.
The All-America list is part of Face-Off Yearbook, a preview guide for men's college lacrosse, which will be released this weekend at the IMLCA Clinic in Baltimore.
Le Moyne (18-0), ranked No. 1 from wire-to-wire in 2006, capped its second unbeaten season in three years with a 12-5 win over Dowling in the NCAA Division II National Championship game in front of 23,990 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The Dolphins won their second national championship in three seasons, made their fifth consecutive trip to the NCAA tournament and sixth consecutive Northeast-10 Conference Championship. Le Moyne will take a 70-game Northeast-10 Conference regular season and 60-game regular season winning streak into the 2007 season.
