MBB: LAURENCE EKPERIGIN NAMED NORTHEAST-10 AND ECAC PLAYER OF THE
WEEK
South Easton, Mass. - Le Moyne College junior forward
Laurence Ekperigin (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Walter
Panas) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference and ECAC
men's basketball player of the week, as announced by the respective
conference offices for the week ending Sunday, Nov. 30.
Ekperigin, a preseason honorable mention All-American by The
Sporting News, averaged 25 points, 11 rebounds and three assists
per game, while registering a 75-percent shooting percentage over
two games to earn his first weekly honor of the season. Ekperigin,
who leads the Northeast-10 in rebounding (10.8/game), ranks second
in field goal percentage (.694) and is eighth in scoring
(16.4/game), tallied a game-high 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds
in a 77-68 loss at American International on Tuesday, Nov. 25. He
followed up that performance by scoring 24 points and pulling down
11 more rebounds, including six on the offensive end, while dishing
out four assists, blocking three shots and recording two steals in
a 79-76 loss to Assumption on Sunday, Nov. 30.
Le Moyne (2-3) returns to action on Wednesday, Dec. 3 in Rindge,
N.H. against conference-foe Franklin Pierce at 7:30 p.m.
