LE MOYNE MEN'S BASKETBALL ANNOUNCES 2008-09 SCHEDULE
Syracuse, N.Y. - Le Moyne College Director of Athletics Matt Bassett and head coach Steve Evans announced the men's basketball schedule on Thursday, Oct. 2. The Dolphins will face Syracuse University in a regular-season contest on Sunday, November 16 in the Carrier Dome to open the season.
The contest against the Orange will be a part of the O'Reilly Auto Parts College Basketball Experience Classic and televised on ESPNU. The contest will count towards each team's schedule, as opposed to being an exhibition game. The Dolphins, led by ninth-year head coach Evans, will be making their fourth appearance against the Orange in the last five seasons, but first regular-season contest since 1994.
Le Moyne opens the 2008-09 campaign with an exhibition contest against ACC-member Georgia Tech on Friday, Nov. 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Atlanta, Ga. The Dolphins and the Yellow Jackets are meeting on the hardwood for the second time, after also playing in 2004.
The Dolphins play their home opener against Northeast-10 Conference rival St. Rose on Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 7:30. Le Moyne also hosts conference members New Haven, St. Michael's, Southern New Hampshire, Stonehill, Bentley, American International, Pace and Southern Connecticut State. The Dolphins travel to American International, Franklin Pierce, Pace, UMass Lowell, Merrimack, St. Anselm, Assumption and New Haven in conference action.
In other non-conference action, the Dolphins will host Caldwell on Dec. 16 and Felician on Jan. 19; while traveling to Goldey-Beacom on Dec. 21 and Felician on Dec. 29.
