MBB: EKPERIGIN COLLECTS SECOND NE-10 CONFERENCE AWARD IN THREE WEEKS

South Easton, Mass. – For the second time in three weeks, Le Moyne College junior forward Laurence Ekperigin (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Walter Panas) picked up Northeast-10 Conference men’s basketball player of the week honors, as announced by the conference office for the week ending Sunday, Dec. 14.

In Le Moyne’s only game of the week, Ekperigin nearly shattered the College’s individual game scoring mark with a 40-point performance against Saint Michael’s. The 40 points marked a career-high for the junior forward and were one shy of the school record and this year’s regional-high by Post’s Brandon Romain. Both Richard Kenyon ‘56 and Philip Harlow ’73 netted 41-point games during their careers at Le Moyne.

Ekperigin was efficient in his work on Dec. 13, knocking down 15-of-17 field goal attempts and 10-of-14 free throws in 34 minutes of action. He also collected 15 rebounds, turned away three shots and dished out a pair of assists. The 15 rebounds were two off his career-high. In addition to leading the Dolphins in both scoring and rebounding, Ekperigin leads the Northeast-10 Conference in rebounding (11.3/game) and field goal percentage (.711). He ranks fourth in scoring (17.4/game) and third in blocked shots (2.13/game) in the Northeast-10 Conference.

For his career, the junior owns 932 points, 567 rebounds and 82 blocked shots.
