LE MOYNE STRUGGLES TO FIND SECOND-HALF RHYTHM, FALLS TO BRYANT, 73-52
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Le Moyne College men's basketball team dropped only its second home game of the campaign with a 73-52 loss to Bryant University in Northeast-10 Conference action at Ted Grant Court. The Dolphins (9-9, 7-6 NE-10) were unable to match the stellar second-half shooting of the Bulldogs (10-8, 6-7 NE-10). Damani Corbin provided a spark off of the bench, scoring 12 points, pulling down six boards and handing out three assists.
The game was a tale of two halves for the Dolphins, who were tied at halftime with the Bulldogs. Corbin scored all of his points in the first half and threw down a fast-break dunk to ignite early offense for Le Moyne. The Dolphins committed only two turnovers in the game's first 20 minutes but they gave the ball away 13 times in the second-half. The Bulldogs knocked down five three-pointers in the second half to pull away from a struggling Le Moyne offense that managed only seven field goals on 24.1% (7-for-29) shooting.
Laurence Ekperigin scored 13 points and pulled down six rebounds to lead Le Moyne. Jonathan Joshua finished with eight points on the strength of two three-pointers and Phil Barnes and Kevin Roth teamed up for a collective 10 points and eight rebounds off of the bench.
The Dolphins will look to rebound against St. Rose on Tuesday at Ted Grant Court. The game, which will be broadcast on Time-Warner 26, is set for 7:30 p.m.
