WOMEN’S GOLF SIGNS KAYLA BURT DURING EARLY SIGNING PERIOD

Syracuse, N.Y. – Le Moyne College head women's golf coach Steve Serling announced on Thursday afternoon that Kayla Burt (Williamsville, N.Y./Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart) has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Le Moyne and play for the Dolphins during the 2013-14 season.

Burt, who helped her team to an 8-0 record during the fall season and posted a nine-hole average of 42.57, has qualified for the All-Catholic tournament the last three years and placed second this past fall with an 80 over 18 holes at Rothland Golf Course. With her second-place finish, Burt qualified for the state tournament in June for the second time in her career. Burt, also a member of the basketball team at Sacred Heart, serves as a camp counselor during the summer at Love Alive Summer Camp, while volunteering at Elderwood Nursing Home and Hope Lodge. Burt plans to major in biology/pre-med

"Kayla is a great match for our program," said Serling, who is in his third year in charge of the program. "She is an experienced student-athlete with a proven golf resume. I look forward to her joining our squad and expect her to contribute right away toward our goal of much lower team total scores."

The Dolphins, who open the spring season on Sunday, April 7 at the Dr. Edwin Cottrell Invitational at Penn Oaks Golf Club in West Chester, Pennsylvania, established the program's team 36-hole record three times in the fall, while posting the team 18-hole record three times as well
