MARTINS FINISHES SECOND AT DOWLING'S SEPTEMBER SHOOTOUT

Oakdale, N.Y. - Senior Tim Martins (Cortland, N.Y./Cortland) finished second in a field of 80 golfers to lead the Le Moyne College men's golf team to a fourth place finish at Dowling College's September Shootout at Long Island National Golf Course on September 27 and 28. Wilmington University won the team competition with a two-day score of 598, paced by player Dan Ott who recorded a two-day score of 139 to finish with top individual honors at the tournament.

Martins opened the shootout with a round of 74 on Sunday. He followed his 74 with a second round score of 72 to finish with a final score of 146. Sophomore Chris Sova (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) recorded a 76 in the first round and a 77 in the final round to tie for 15th place, while classmate Kevin Jackson (Chittenango, N.Y./Chittenango) finished in a tie for 34th after firing a 157 on rounds of 78 and 79. Sophomore Anthony Viskovich (Massena, N.Y./Massena) registered rounds of 77 and 81 to finish tied for 38th with a score of 158, while junior Andy Lloyd (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) carded a 159 to finish in a tie for 42nd place to round out Le Moyne's competitors.

Le Moyne returns to action on Sunday, October 4 and Monday, October 5 in Bernardston, Mass. for the Northeast-10 Championships at the Crumpin' Fox Country Club.
