KEVIN JACKSON NAMED NE-10 MEN'S GOLF PLAYER AND FRESHMAN
OF THE WEEK
South Easton, Mass. - Le Moyne College freshman Kevin
Jackson (Chittenango, N.Y./Chittenango) has been honored
as the men's golf player and freshman of the week by the
Northeast-10 Conference, as announced by the conference office on
Tuesday, Sept. 30.
Jackson, selected as the men's golf player and freshman of the
week for the first time each, was honored for his first-place
finish at the 2008 Northeast-10 Championships on Sunday and Monday.
Jackson, who earned the conference's Gordon McCullough Player of
the Year as well as Freshman of the Year honors for his performance
in leading the Dolphins to their first-ever Championship title, is
the sixth Le Moyne golfer to claim medalist honors at the
conference championships. Jackson, who also earned a spot on the
All-Conference First Team, became the first freshman since Le
Moyne's Neil Reidy in 1998 to win medalist honors. After landing in
second place with a two-under par 69 in the opening round, Jackson
carded a 75 on the tournament's second day to finish first.
Le Moyne returns to action on Sunday, Sept. 28 and Monday, Sept.
29 at the Northeast-10 Championships, hosted by American
International at Vesper Country Club.
