SOVA TIES FOR 10TH AT DOWLING'S SEPTEMBER SHOOTOUT

Oakdale, N.Y. - Freshman Chris Sova (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) finished in a tie for 10th place to lead the Le Moyne College men's golf team to a tie for fourth place at Dowling College's September Shootout at Long Island National Golf Course on Sept. 14 and 15. Adelphi won the team competition with a two-day score of 595, while Kent St. Charles of Pace and Brant Kummerfeld of Adelphi each shot a 146 for co-medalist honors.

Sova opened the shootout with a round of 72 on Sunday. In the final round, he carded an 80 to finish tied for 10th two-round score of 152. Freshman Anthony Viskovich (Massena, N.Y./Massena) recorded a 75 in the first round and a 79 in the second round to tie for 16th place, while classmate Kevin Jackson (Chittenango, N.Y./Chittenango) finished in a tie for 28th after firing a 157 on rounds of 80 and 77. Sophomore Andrew Lloyd (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) registered rounds of 80 and 78 to finish tied for 34th with a score of 158 and junior Tim Martins (Cortland, N.Y./Cortland) recorded a 162 to finish in a tie for 48th place to round out Le Moyne's competitors.

Le Moyne returns to Long Island National on Sunday, Sept. 21 and Monday, Sept. 22 for the ECAC Championships.
