FRESHMAN COREY NELSON SET TO TAKE THE HILL AGAINST CORNELL.
SYRACUSE, NY-The Le Moyne College Dolphins are scheduled for a 4 p.m. contest Thursday April 3rd at Hoy Field in Ithaca, New York. The game was originally scheduled for Wednesday April 2nd, but inclement weather and field conditions postponed the game. The Cornell Big Red competes in the Ivy League conference under head coach Tom Ford. Ford enters his seventeenth season with the Big Red. Currently, the 6-10 (0-2) Big Red look for redemption from the previous season, against the 9-14 Dolphins.
The Dolphins defeated the Big Red in the 2007 campaign 11-8 behind Matt Nandin's 3-4 performance at the plate. The Dolphins scattered twelve hits behind the arm of Luke Nellis. It was Daniel Tunison earning the win with his five innings of relief work, allowing five hits and two runs. Cornell is currently on a two game losing streak after the 18-11 and 11-1 Dartmouth sweep.
Nathan Ford (Jr. C/3B), Domenic Di Ricco (Jr.OF), and Jimmy Heinz (Sr.2B) are key returning position players to keep your eye on.

In the 2008 season, Ford and Di Ricco have remained locked in at the plate. Ford is currently leading the Big Red with a .424 average starting in all sixteen games. Ford is also leading the team with hits (25), doubles (7), and RBIs (16). Di Ricco is currently second on the team batting .355 through sixteen games. Freshman Mikey Brodsky has generated the power production leading the Big Red with two home runs. In fifteen games the freshman is hitting .347 with 7 RBIs.
The Big Red has relied on the arms of Corey Pappel and Matt Hill to this point this season. In 28.2 innings Pappel has compiled a 4.08 ERA, and a record of 2-2. Hill has compiled a 3-1 record through 29.1 innings of work, with a 4.30 ERA.
Corey Nelson will make his fifth start against Cornell Thursday. Nelson was defeated in his last start at Dick Rockwell Field by Canisius. The left hander lasted 4.2 innings, allowing four hits on three runs. First pitch at Hoy Field in Ithaca, New York is scheduled for 4 p.m.
