O’NEILL, EDMONDSON & ST. AMANT HOMER IN 12-1
VICTORY OVER DELAWARE STATE.
Dover, DE – Corey O’Neill, Chris Edmondson and Phil St.
Amant each connected for home runs as the Dolphins rolled over
Delaware State 12-1 in the final game of a three game series at
Soldier Field. With the three-game sweep, the Dolphins improve to
6-10 on the season.
Delaware States only run of the game would come in the bottom of
the first inning as the Hornets touched up starter Dan Tunison for
one manufactured run. After tying the game in the top half of the
second, Edmondson put Le Moyne in the lead for good with at
three-run homerun to right field.
The Dolphins would put the game out of reach in the eighth inning
with back-to-back home runs by Corey O’Neill and Phil St.
Amant.
Starter Dan Tunison would get the win pitching six strong innings,
allowing only a first-inning run on eight hits while striking out
two. Freshman Jeff Tardiff pitched the final three innings,
allowing only one base runner and while recording two
strikeouts.
The Dolphin offense connected for a season-high 17 hits as six
players recorded multiple hits. Stephen Crawford, Phil St. Amant
and Chris Edmonson all collected three hits each. Matt Nandin,
Corey O’Neill and Mike Brown added two hit apiece.
The Dolphins open their home schedule on Saturday, March 22nd as
they host Canisius for a doubleheader at Dick Rockwell Field.
