EDMONDSON AND BROWN CONNECT FOR HOME RUN AS DOLPHINS TAKE SERIES FINALE 6-4
Farmville, VA - The Le Moyne College baseball team evened their record at 2-2 after taking the final game of a four-game series with Longwood 6-4 on Sunday. T.J. Sheridan (1-0) earned the win after pitching five strong innings. Chris Edmondson and Phil St. Amant led the Dolphin attack by collecting two hits each.
After scratching a run in the top of the first innings for the third time in four games this season, the Dolphins put up a four-spot in the fourth. Mike Brown led off the inning with his first home run of the season. Le Moyne proceeded to use two Lancer errors along wit two more hits to plate three more runs in the fourth to take a 5-1 advantage.
Longwood struck back in the bottom half as they put two runners on via a single and walk. Sheridan would strike out the next two Lancers, but with two outs, Paul Heidler II connected for a three-run home run pulling Longwood within two at 5-3.
Edmondson would get one back in the top of the fifth inning with his first home run of the season. Freshman Corey Nelson and sophomore Al Ondrako pitched the final four innings and closed the door on the Lancer offense.
Le Moyne returns to action on Friday, February 29th as they travel to Oral Roberts for a three game series.
