Le Moyne’s Parrino and Woods named third team ABCA/Rawlings
All-Americans
Le Moyne College shortstop Andy Parrino and relief pitcher Ryan
Woods have been named to the third team of the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA
Division 1 All-America Team.
Woods recorded 14 saves and a 1.34 ERA this year, and was named
the 2007 MAAC Relief Pitcher of the Year and Tournament MOP as the
Dolphins captured the conference championship. He recently signed a
free agent contract with the Kansas City Royals and will report to
the Burlington Royals in North Carolina, the Royal's minor league
single-A affiliate.
Parrino was selected in the 26th round by the San Diego Padres in
2007 Major League Baseball Draft, held earlier this month. The 2007
MAAC Player of the Year hit a career high .402 this season with
nine home runs and 44 runs batted in. He had a .643 slugging
percentage and a .479 on base percentage.
