Le Moyne takes two from Siena; Woods ties school save record

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Le Moyne swept a conference doubleheader defeating Siena 9-7 and 8-4 at Dick Rockwell Field on Saturday. Sophomore Eric Beaulac won his seventh game of the year and senior Bobby Blevins notched his sixth victory as the Dolphins improve to 24-16 overall and 16-2 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The Saints fall to 7-31 on the season and 5-11 in conference play.

In game one, the Dolphins socked three two-run home runs. Freshman Chris Edmondson (Johnson City, N.Y./Johnson City) homered in the second, junior Corey O'Neill (Pittsford, N.Y./McQuaid Jesuit) added another in the third and senior Ben Gaal (Manlius, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) capped the home run barrage in the fifth. Five starters, including Edmondson, O'Neill and Gaal, finished with multi-hit games. Right fielder Robby Perez (Miami, Fla./Belen Jesuit Prep) collected three hits and third baseman Stephen Crawford (Webster, N.Y./Eastridge) added a pair of singles. Right hander Blevins (Briarcliff, N.Y./Briarcliff) ran his program-best career win total to 29 and fanned two batters. Senior Ryan Woods (Jacksonville, Fla./Englewood) pitched 2.2 innings of relief, striking out three, en route to his ninth save of the season.

Starter Eric Beaulac (Troy, N.Y./Troy) struck out six in the back end of the doubleheader before Woods nailed down his tenth save of the season. With 22 career saves, the closer tied the school-record held by Andy Weimer ‘03. Junior Andy Parrino (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport) broke a scoreless tie in the fifth, plating freshman Sean Paino (Wappinger Falls, N.Y./Roy C. Ketcham) with an RBI single. Crawford drove in two with a double and the Dolphins scored five times with two outs to build a 5-0 lead. Parrino knocked in three runs for the game, while sophomore Mike Brown (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) and senior Phil St. Amant (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport) contributed RBI singles.

Le Moyne returns to Dick Rockwell Field for the series finale with Siena on Sunday. First pitch is slated for noon.
