LE MOYNE LOOKS TO UP THEIR CONFERENCE RECORD THIS WEEKEND
AGAINST NIAGARA
Syracuse, N.Y. - The Le Moyne College Dolphins (11-15, 6-2) have won 9 out of there last 11 games and are looking to improve their 6-2 conference record this weekend against the Purple Eagles of Niagara (12-13, 2-5). The Dolphins are currently in second place in the MAAC, while the Purple Eagles are holding onto the number eight spot in the conference at 2-5.
Starting on the hill for Saturday's game one will be school strikeout leader Bobby Blevins (Briarcliff, N.Y./Briarcliff). Blevins comes into the game with an overall record of 3-2 and a conference record of 2-0. He enters the game with an earned run average of 3.56 with 48.0 innings pitched. Blevins is looking to improve on his 252 career strikeouts at Le Moyne.
The Dolphins Saturday game two starter will be right handed sophomore Eric Beaulac (Troy, N.Y./Troy). Beaulac comes in with a 3-1 overall record; with all three of the wins being in conference play. He has recorded an earned run average of 3.93 thus far on the season. Beaulac has posted 35 strikeouts in 34.1 innings pitched, while also holding opposing batters to a .203 batting average.
Sunday's game against Niagara, left handed freshman Luke Nellis (Fonda, N.Y./Fonda-Fultonville) will be making his first conference start of the season. Nellis has posted a 5.23 earned run average on the season with a record of 2-1. He has come in strong so far in relief for the Dolphins, striking out 21 batters in 20.2 innings and also holding them to a .225 batting average.
Heading the top of Le Moyne's offense is junior shortstop Andy Parrino (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport) with a .413 batting average. Parrino also leads the team in home runs with three; he is second on the team in runs scored (18) and second on the team in runs batted in (19). Also helping out the Dolphins is junior Stephen Crawford (Webster, N.Y./Eastridge). Crawford leads the team in stolen bases with 12 and also leads the team in runs scored at 20; he holds the second spot in batting average at .358. Catcher Phil St. Amant (Brockport N.Y./Brockport) is helping Le Moyne with his team-leading 21 runs batted in.
The Purple Eagles come into the weekend series with junior Tim Alberts leading the way offensively. Alberts has a batting average of .372 with 25 runs batted in, six home runs and has registered 21 runs scored. Also helping out Niagara is junior Harrison Harber. Harber comes into the weekend with a .341 batting average, 24 runs scored and 15 runs batted in.
