LE MOYNE OUTLASTS BUFFALO IN GAME ONE 6-5 IN 14 INNINGS AND EARNS SWEEP IN GAME 2 WITH 9-6 VICTORY

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Le Moyne College swept the University at Buffalo in a non-conference baseball doubleheader held at Amherst Audubon Field. With the victories, Le Moyne moves to 6-14, while Buffalo drops to 1-17 on the season.

In game one of the doubleheader, Le Moyne outlasted Buffalo 6-5 in 14 innings.  Junior Stephen Crawford (Webster, N.Y. /Eastridge) led off the 14th inning with a single and proceeded to steal second base. Crawford would score on a Buffalo error, leading to the Dolphin victory.  Freshman Luke Nellis (Fonda, N.Y. /Fonda-Fultonville) picked up the win in relief after throwing three innings of one hit ball and striking out six.  Junior shortstop Andy Parrino (Brockport, N.Y. /Brockport) led the Dolphin charge going 3-6 at the plate and driving in one run.

Game two saw a terrific outing by right-hander Daniel Tunison (Bath, N.Y./ Bath/Haverling) who delivered six strong innings, yielding two runs on seven hits and striking out two. The freshman hurler earned his first career victory in his first collegiate start.  Ben Gaal (Manlius, N.Y. /Christian Brothers Academy), Phil St. Amant (Brockport, N.Y. / Brockport) and Corey O'Neill (Pittsford, N.Y. / McQuaid Jesuit) led the Dolphins offense collecting two hits each.

Le Moyne is back in action on Saturday, March 31st as they will take on Fairfield in a MAAC doubleheader. Saturday will also be the home opener for the Dolphins at Dick Rockwell Field after 20 games on the road to start the season.
