ADAM MILLS FANS 12, CHARLOTTE UPENDS LE MOYNE 5-1
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Adam Mills struck out 12 and allowed just two hits in a complete-game 5-1 win for Charlotte over Le Moyne College in a non-conference baseball game at Winthrop University. The Dolphins (2-7) and 49ers (11-3) play a pair of seven-inning games in a doubleheader tomorrow.
Senior Bobby Blevins (Briarcliff,
N.Y./Briarcliff) pitched the entire game for Le Moyne. He
allowed five runs on 10 hits. The Niners scored single runs on
Blevins in the second, fourth, fifth, sixth and eighth innings.
Le Moyne's only hits resulted in the club's only run in the top of the fifth inning. Senior Ben Gaal (Manlius, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) smacked a two-out double to break up Mills' perfect game. Junior Robby Perez (Miami, Fla./Belen Jesuit) drove him in with another two-bagger. Mills' only other blemish came in the top of the seventh when he plunked Le Moyne junior shortstop Andy Parrino (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport) with a pitch.
Le Moyne and Charlotte are scheduled for a four-game series this
weekend.
