LE MOYNE HEAD COACH STEVE OWENS ANNOUNCES BASEBALL PITCHING ROTATION FOR WEEKEND SERIES AT MCNEESE STATE
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Le Moyne College opens the 2007 baseball season with a three-game series at defending Southland Conference Champion McNeese State in Lake Charles, La. Eighth-year head coach Steve Owens will send a senior righty, a freshman southpaw and a sophomore righty to the hill.
The program's all-time wins leader Bobby Blevins (Briarcliff, N.Y./Briarcliff) will take the ball in the opener. Blevins, a senior tri-captain, is 23-10 in his first three seasons and ranks second on the program's all-time list with 215 career strikeouts. The righty posted a 10-2 mark with a 2.53 ERA and program-record 95 strikeouts in 98 innings last season.
Freshman southpaw Michael Gedman (Framingham, Mass./Loomis Chafee) is scheduled to make Saturday's start. Sophomore righty Eric Beaulac (Troy, N.Y./Troy) was 3-1 with a 4.68 ERA in four starts. He struck out 26 in 32 and 2/3 innings.
