South Easton, Mass. – Le Moyne College student-athletes Christie Morano (Highland, N.Y./Highland), Emma D'Ambro (Schaghticoke, N.Y./Hoosic Valley) and Bethany Fabian (Lake View, N.Y./Frontier) have been named to the Northeast-10 Conference Academic All-Conference team for their respective sports, as announced by the conference office.

Morano, a senior on the women’s soccer team, earns her third consecutive Academic All-Conference honors. Morano, the team’s leading scorer for the fourth straight season (just the second Dolphin to do so), scored 11 goals and dished out three assists for a team-high 25 points as a starter in 16 of 17 games played. Named to the NSCAA East Region Second Team for the second straight year after being selected to the Northeast-10 Conference Second Team, Morano finished the season ranked in a fourth-place tie in the conference in points and goals. Morano, the program’s first four-time all-Northeast-10 selection, registered at least one point in nine of Le Moyne’s 17 games, including a goal in eight games.

D’Ambro, a senior on the women’s cross country team, was named to the Academic All-Conference team for the second time in three years. Le Moyne’s top finisher in all six meets, D’Ambro placed in the top-15 at five meets during her final collegiate season, including three top-10 finishes. She earned All-East Region honors for the third straight year after placing a career-best 13th at the NCAA East Regional on November 4 with the fastest six-kilometer time of her career, 22:19.6. Her top finish of the year came at the season-opening Hamilton Short Course Invitational, where she placed fifth in 15:37.7 over four kilometers. She then placed sixth at the Highlander Invitational and posted a 10th-place finish at the 6K Slippery Rock Invitational in 24:14.52.

Fabian, a senior on the volleyball team, was named to the Academic All-Conference team for the second straight year. A starter in all 27 matches, Fabian played in all 105 games and led the Dolphins in digs for the second straight year with 397 (3.78/gm). Her dig total ties graduate assistant coach Lizzie Cheek ’10 for eighth place on the program’s single-season chart and represents the most with games only being played to 25 points (rule was changed from 30 prior to the 2008 season). Fabian, who recorded 10 double-doubles, closed out the season second on the team with a career-high 253 kills and a career-best 32 service aces. She recorded twin-figure digs in 22 of 27 matches and landed double-figure kills 12 times.

To be eligible for selection to the academic all-conference teams, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) participated in at least half of the team's competitions and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); and 3) completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution. The Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference teams are chosen by a vote of a committee of athletic administrators and Faculty Athletic Representatives (FAR).
