Lauren O’Connor completed her 5th season as the head coach of Le Moyne Women’s Lacrosse with the highest winning percentage in the program’s history. Since 2003, the Dolphins have posted a 65-27 (.707) overall record and 29-4 (.879) in Division I Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play under the guidance of Coach O’Connor.

In five seasons, Coach O’Connor and the Dolphins have earned five MAAC Tournament Championship berths, three MAAC Tournament Championship Titles, three MAAC Regular Season Titles, and two appearances in the NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Tournament. In 2006, after leading Le Moyne to its first undefeated league season, and a program-record 15 wins, O’Connor was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Coach of the Year for the first time. O’Connor has also coached 28 all-conference performers in five seasons.

This past season, Coach O’Connor led the Dolphins to a 16-5 record and a perfect 7-0 in the MAAC. The 2007 season was the most accomplished in Le Moyne’s history. Their final record of 16-5 was the best ever at Le Moyne. The 7-0 regular season MAAC record, plus the 2-0 MAAC tournament record marked the second year in a row that the women’s lacrosse team has gone undefeated against all MAAC opponents. Remaining undefeated against conference opponents for the second consecutive year, Le Moyne established a conference record winning-streak of 18-0. This year’s team scored a total of 279 goals, averaging 13.29 goals per game, placing them at #10 in the nation for scoring offense. The team is also ranked in the top 20 in Division I for scoring margin, draw controls, and win percentage. Le Moyne returned to the NCAA Division I National Tournament this year for the second time under Coach O’Connor.

The 2007 team included six all-conference players, three all-tournament team selections, and for the second year in a row, junior attacker Kylie Rosette was named MVP of the MAAC Tournament. In addition, senior attacker Amanda Keegan established herself as the Le Moyne Career Leader in four categories (total points, goals, assists, and draw controls). Keegan, the most decorated player in Le Moyne’s history, was named 2007 MAAC Offensive Player of the Year, womenslacrosse.com National Player of the Week (May 7, 2007), and became the first player ever from Le Moyne to earn the distinction of IWLCA Regional All-America.

A native of Syracuse, O’Connor played on the first varsity girls’ lacrosse team at West Genesee High School. She went on to play collegiate lacrosse at Niagara University and American University. She graduated from American University in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in International Studies. In 2006, she earned her Master’s Degree in Education from Le Moyne. O’Connor began her coaching career at Westhill High School (Syracuse, NY) where she started the program in 2000. In three seasons, the Warriors posted a record of 37-12.
